A Little too late? I'm so into this song, and apperently I'm obsessed with this man (I can't believe I just linked that...whatever). This post is blatent blog thievery, but I can't help it. I just want to bring pop covers to the masses.
That I love Grizzly Bear! It's been almost a year since I first heard their LP Yellow House and their new EP Friend is out. Slightly one dimentional music has never bothered me but it's fun to see when music I suspect fits this category doesn't actually.
...to download In Rainbows. And if it's your style, it's worth your cash too... I heard Weird Fishes/Arpeggi on college radio today. It was nice (... not actually this version. I just like this version).
Anyway, there are probably a million and a half blogs about this album right now, and i'm happy to join the numbers. And if you haven't heard or heard of this album yet, I don't know where you've been. I didn't give all the internet hype over this album much consideration, but now that I actually have In Rainbows I'm happy I do. I like it. Radiohead is just a solid band. You might even like them a year form now...
My Shower is broken. It's been broken for two weeks. I've taken a shower three times during that two weeks and I've felt disgusting and dirty the whole time.
Yep. Good Story.
Also, I fulfilled my 8th-9th grade dream of seeing Modest Mouse this Sunday. They played my favorite song (not actually the one I quoted) and it was quite a moment.
I've been into Tom Waits lately. I don't know what it is, but lately I've been re-evaluating music I didn't think I liked. But Tom is pretty awesome, and the thing about music is that no matter how much you think you know about it, really you don't even know the half of it.
I just realized that this will be my second post that has to do with an actor/artist who was also in Coffee and Cigarettes. It's a shame i didn't like this movie becaue I could have gotten intoGZA and Tom Waits earlier (still a 'no' on the white stripes though... so far) and would probably feel less lame about referencing it so often...
PS- I don't really like Scarlett Johansson, but I think this is going to be funny. I love how she didn't even ask him before she started. He found out by reading the paper...
Sometimes I find this band obnoxious, but I like this song and the video was all too fitting for this latest "holiday". This song is actually making me interested in the "upcoming" album...
I have to say that the 4h of July is pretty much the lamest American drinking holiday because it thinks it's better/more than a drinking holiday, when it totally isn't. And to be honest, what is with the fireworks? Maybe America is just really into blowin' stuff up for no reason? blahblahblahmildlypoliticalblahblahblah peace out.
And who cares? With a very typical (and pretty boring) video for his new song 'Amusement Park ', 50 Cent's new stuff doesn't seem like anything special... Well, not everything can be as brilliant as "In Da Club." And to all you Curtis fans out there (it's just so fun to call him that), chances are I'm wrong, but I'll let you decide for yourself:
Broken Social Scene presents Kevin Drew . Precious! Despite the mildly tacky cereal eating thing... but at least that means it's not overly cute right? (okay, okay, Feist isn't THAT bad, and I do enjoy the cute every so often...)
What is the deal with the radio these days? I was just reminded of how much I used to love Hips Don't Lie by Shakira and it made me fully realize the lack of amazing billboard/top 40 jamz for the summer. It could be a little early, but still- this time last year was an amazing time for the summer song, and this summer has nothing so far. Nothing. Don't try to pull any of that Lip Gloss/D.A.N.C.E. shit on me. I want some pop. And I don't mean the kind I can drink. Come on Summer '07!
