Curtis- New Album Out Soon...

And who cares?
With a very typical (and pretty boring) video for his new song 'Amusement Park ', 50 Cent's new stuff doesn't seem like anything special... Well, not everything can be as brilliant as "In Da Club." And to all you Curtis fans out there (it's just so fun to call him that), chances are I'm wrong, but I'll let you decide for yourself:

Whatever, apparently 50 Cent Is TRASH anyway:

Kellz Does it Again!!

I love a good "Sylvester" Production! R. Kelly has such a flare for storytelling so it should come as no surprise that his video for "Same Girl" featuring Usher would be as stunning as it is.

Not to bring up this band too much, but was anyone else thinking of what Broken Social Scene song would go with that?

While Feist slowly takes over the world...

Broken Social Scene presents Kevin Drew . Precious! Despite the mildly tacky cereal eating thing... but at least that means it's not overly cute right?
(okay, okay, Feist isn't THAT bad, and I do enjoy the cute every so often...)

My name is Rachel. R-A-C-H-E-L...

and I'm addicted to the show Intervention. I've actually only seen one episode, but I need to see more. I'm seriously haunted by my last Intervention experience. I find ways to bring it up in conversation and I suggest watching it to all my friends who are bored (bored enough to watch TV or do drugs, either one). I just find addictions really fascinating and I want them to do shows on cigarettes and coffee (things that I'm practically addicted to anyway). I may just have to do it myself...

When The Lights Go Down In The City...

...hundreds of bikers gather to watch a pretty badass movie called MASH about being insane on bikes in SF. Like insane and amazing. I'm not even going to pretend like I know anything about bikes (...like, I think you ride them or something) but I was totally blown away by this movie. It made me (of all people) want to ride bikes...and bikers*. Damn. Hotties on bikes in San Francisco. But besides that aspect of it, just watching MASH was a total adrenalin rush. I don't think I've ever been in a louder theater or sworn that much while watching a movie. Good .

(*SLR...wow, I can't believe I just wrote that)

Lets All Blog the Shit Out of This Song!!!!!!

So, I know it's everywhere, but I can't help it that I'm into this song. I think it's kind of making Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger even more played out and I'll be the first to tell you that Kanye is the white man's rapper, but, you know, I'm white, so that could explain it. Plus Daft Punk has a special place in my heart ("Woah, the street totally sounds the beginning of "Da Funk" right now") and I'm sad that I won't be seeing them this summer.

Kanye West- Stronger

Oh- and Lidia, the only reason I blog so much is cuz you never do!!!

JOOON

So far, June has been pretty alright.
I saw Arcade Fire on the first in Berkley. Derek composed a pretty astute and concise description of the show (however, he neglected to mention me- but whatever). I love shows like that because they make me feel like I actually am a "true fan" of something. Especially because I knew all the words and I could act all snobby to the douche bag who didn't know that it was a Neon Bible ("You know...like the title of the album.").

Also, my birthday was on the third and that was cute as long as I didn't think about it too much. I got a sewing machine, so I'll finally be able to give Kelsey hers back/make all my shitty bargain barn/yard sale purchases actually work.

Speaking of yard sales, Project Purr was pretty good this year (sunday) as was the "that white church in soquel" rummage sale (saturday). I got a photo album to put all my polaroid adventures in and many an ugly but cheep pair of sunglasses (because I really don't have enough).

So now that I'm back to smoking cigarettes, it's time to deprive myself of another substance I smoke on a some-what regular basis. Starting the 4th and ending... whenever-I-feel-like-it-but-not-for-a-while.

So far, june (and summer in general) has been not awful. I'm on the job hunt but that hasn't stopped me from going to awkward parties, letting video rental store hotties fall in love with me/give me free movie rentals, finding out the risks involved in wisdom teeth removal and receiving killer back rubs.

So, to be perfectly clear- my life is amazing and fabulous, you should be really jealous, my summer will be totally outstanding and if I didn't have a blog, you would probably be reading like a million bulletins a day on myspace about how fucking awesome my summer will undoubtedly be.

Space is Overrated

So i think the whole Space motif for all things hip (two years ago) is boring and I'm glad we've moved on.
But. I heard this funny space-themed mash up and whatever; I was struck and I will always love this David Bowie song and music that's funny for being lame.

RIAA- Lift Off

Oh yeah, and I'm seeing Arcade Fire tomorrow (er, technically today). Jealous?
